Reflect on what you have learned in the class and how you will use it professionally as both a lifelong learner and an instructional systems professional (or whatever field you’re in).
There are so many learning moments from this "compressed" ride! First, I have a real appreciation for what constitutes Web 2.0 - a lot!! I've been exposed to a wide array of technologies including Blogger, Ning, Netvibes, Citulike, Yammer, and Stumbleupon to mention a few. It's also obvious that we're still not there as to buy-in in for Web 2.0's utility in education. In fact it appears that private industry is much farther along embracing these technologies. My sense is once the vast majority of society is composed of those who grew up with networked computing, acceptance will skyrocket. Technology will continue to get better and at a mind-numbing pace. I also learned there's etiquette and appropriate ways to engage in this social engineering world we're engaged in. It's not for everyone; however, the benefits appear to far outweigh any downside. Finally, I've witnessed how one can get sucked into life on the net. We need to be careful not caste aside F2F interactions. This has been a great experience and I'll definitely mine opportunities to apply Web 2.0 and beyond into my personal and professional life. I hope to be in academia here locally at UNF, JU, or FSCJ in a distance learning / IS role as a leader and practitioner. Thanks for the great ride Vanessa!
