Last Friday late in the day and today, two of my co-workers lost their jobs as a result of budget woes. Another resigned, having seen the writing on the wall and proactively found another position. As can be expected, it's quite a solemn scene around work these days . . .
Sorry to hear that, Kem. This 'great recession' is really making me take another look at my own profession. I've found that it has been good for me to appreciate the stability and security that comes from my service... I complain a lot less!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear this. I survived two rounds of layoffs (cut in the third and final one) in the mid-90s at a dotcom startup and it was truly a depressing experience.
